General

The mountains are a natural paradise for hiking lovers, as they boast centuries-old trails, paths, and drovers' roads that traverse the region and connect all the beautiful Andalusian villages within the natural park. The area is home to some of the most attractive flora and fauna species in Spain and offers a new opportunity each day to enjoy the vegetation and the scenery.

El paquete ofrecido incluye tres noches en la casita El Búho en Molino Río Alájar, dos noches en Biarritz Rural y, por último, dos noches en el Hotel Convento de Aracena. El programa está disponible del 15 de septiembre al 31 de mayo.

The price, based on a double room for two people, is €577.50 per person (total price €1155) and includes accommodation, daily breakfast, detailed hiking maps (by GPS), and luggage transport between accommodations. If you decide to travel by bus from Seville, we will pick you up at the bus stop in Alájar.

The walk ascends through the village of El Calabacino, passing the chapel of La Trinidad and partly along an old cobbled Roman road. The houses of El Calabacino are scattered across the hillside, with spectacular views.

Leaving El Calabacino, continue through chestnut woods towards Castaño del Robledo, a picturesque village with a Romanesque church and a second interesting church that was never finished (bars).
On the way back, there's an opportunity to make a small detour (300 metres) to visit the Peña de Arias Montano, a natural monument of great scenic and historical value which offers beautiful views of Alájar and the south of the province of Huelva.

Day 4 Alájar – Fuenteheridos Walk

After breakfast, it’s time to head to your next accommodation in Fuenteheridos. We will take care of transporting your luggage to your “Biarritz Rural” accommodation.
There are two options to get to Fuenteheridos: the short route of 7.5 km or the long one of 10.9 km.

Short route
You walk past the village of Los Madroñeros, where there are more cats than people, then towards Alájar and subsequently ascend to Puerta de Linares, where you cross the road. The path continues with views over Alájar and its surroundings.
Afterwards, the route runs through chestnut groves, which attract many visitors in autumn when their fruit falls. It is also a perfect time for collecting wild mushrooms.
The tour finishes in the attractive village of Fuenteheridos, famous for its “Fuente de los Doce Caños” (Fountain of the Twelve Spouts). The village has a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Long route
It goes from Alájar, passing by the Peña de Arias Montano, to Fuenteheridos.
