26 years ago, in 1998, we decided to leave our life in Amsterdam to seek a quieter life, more connected with nature. After much exploration in search of our dream, we found what is now “Molino Río Alájar.” We began by restoring the old mill, which is now our home, and then we built with our own hands the six houses that are part of our complex. Using traditional methods and recycled materials from the region, combined with modern and art-deco décor, we created unique and welcoming spaces.
After much effort, we are now happy to welcome you to what we hope you will also define as “a little paradise.”

Originally from France, I have been enjoying Andalusia and the Sierra for 16 years! My passion is to ensure that your stay in our destination and our houses is unforgettable.
From suggesting exciting activities, recommending the best places to visit and restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine, to guiding you through the trails surrounding our property, my commitment is to share my deep knowledge of the Natural Park. I am originally from Alájar and have worked at Molino Río Alájar since its beginning, 23 years ago. From the very first days, when I helped collect the stones for its construction, I have witnessed the evolution of this project into the reality it is today. I know every corner of our houses and the complex inside out.
Over all these years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and recognizing numerous families who visit us again and again. From the moment you make your reservation, I take care of every detail to ensure your stay is perfect: cleanliness, order, the beds made, the firewood ready for your fireplace… My goal is for you to feel at home and to wish to return again and again.
