Do you like hiking but also discovering cities with a great historical and cultural heritage?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trip combines a week of cultural activities in Extremadura with a week of hiking in the Sierra de Aracena (Andalusia). In collaboration with Tierragua (link Reizen naar Extremadura – Tierragua<\/a>), we offer a trip that showcases the best of two Spanish regions full of history, landscapes and traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journey begins in Seville, where you'll pick up your hire car and head to Extremadura. There you will discover some of Spain's most impressive historical sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You'll stroll through the walled old town of C\u00e1ceres, travel back to Roman times in M\u00e9rida and visit the Royal Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda de Guadalupe, an exceptional architectural ensemble combining Mudejar, Gothic and Baroque styles. All these sites are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also visit Trujillo, with its famous square and its history linked to Romans, Muslims and explorers. The journey continues to Zafra, known as \u201clittle Seville\u201d and situated on the historic Silver Route, and to Jerez de los Caballeros, birthplace of the explorers Hernando de Soto and Vasco N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Balboa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this first part of the trip you will stay in 3 or 4 star hotels, paradors or flats, located in the centre of the different cities. You will also receive recommendations from Terragua on what to see and do in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will then continue on to the Sierra de Aracena, where your week of hiking begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This area in the northwest of Andalusia is known for its undulating natural landscapes, holm oak and chestnut forests and white villages with character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will stay in one of our natural stone cottages in Molino R\u00edo Al\u00e1jar, located in a peaceful natural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
